This is of course if the hotel does not sell out. So please make your reservations if you plan to stay at the hotel.

Note that if you desire more tournaments in Austin, then it is important to stay at the hotel, even if it is only for one night.

5 round Swiss: Open G/90 with 30 second increment

All other sections: 30/90, SD/1 (note that 2 day option round 1 is Game/120).

GGP: 40, Open section is Fide rated, but uses USCF Rules.

Seven Sections: Open, U2000, U1800, U1600, U1400, U1200 and Unrated. Note that Unrated and U1600 sections may be merged, but if so, unrated only eligible for Unrated prizes and class pairings may be possible. CCA minimum ratings will be used.

Prizes ($8200 based on 200 full entries, discounted entries count as 3/4, re-entries cound 1/2. Scholastic section entries do not count. $4100 guarenteed):

Two 1/2 point byes allowed, but 1/2 point byes for both rounds 4 and 5 is/are not allowed. Byes must be requested before the second round and before receiving a full point bye.

Rule Variations used for this tournament:

11H1 is in effect.
Monroi Users must make move before recording it. Players without Monroi may record move before or after playing it.
In Open section, Fide rated but will use USCF rules.
In Open section only, since there is a 30 second increment, no insignificant losing chances claims are allowed. At TD's descretion, a two minute penalty (time added to opponent) may be imposed if an insignificant losing chances claim is made in Open section.
In Open section only, since there is a 30 second increment, a player must continue to notate even if under 5 minutes.
In all section but the open, if an analog clock is used, and black is not present at the start of the game, White may start Black's clock without making his move. (If a digital clock is used, white clock is started, white makes a move, then starts black's clock.)
