5 round Swiss System, G/120. (Round 1 of 2-day is G/60.)
Entry Fees: Regular is $49 by 1/4 else $65. Jr/Sr/Hcapp is $30 by 1/4 else $40.
Seven Sections. Note that Sections may be combined if one or more sections have few players. Sections with an adequate number of players may still be combined with sections with few entries. January Rating supplement will be used, but note that TDs may still assign ratings as per the rulebook.
U2200: Opened to players rated under 2200 or unrated players.
U2000: Opened to players rated under 2000 or unrated players. Unrated Players not eligible for prizes unless section is merged with U1600.
U1800: Opened to players rated under 1800 or unrated players. Unrated Players not eligible for prizes unless section is merged with U1600.
U1600/Unrated: Opened to players rated under 1600 or unrated players. This is the sections unrateds should play. Unrated players may only win unrated prizes determine by unrated entries.
U1400: Opened to players rated under 1400
U1200: Opened to players rated under 1200
U1000: Opened to players rated under 1000.
Prizes: Each section will award:
1st: 30% of paid entry fees of section.
2nd: 20% of paid entry fees of section.
3rd: 10% of paid entry fees of section.
Up to Two Half-point bye(s) available if requested before end of round 2 and before full point bye is awarded, but byes for both Round 4 AND Round 5 is not allowed.

Note other rule variation: Players not using Monroi devices, may write move down then play it. Excessive erasing will be grounds to make player move then write move down. Players using Monroi devices must make move then 'notate' the move.

Open to 1399 & under. Unrateds may not play in this section.
Under 1200:
Open to 1199 & under. Unrateds may not play in this section.
Under 1000:
Open to 999 & under. Unrateds may not play in this section. ALL: $$ 60% returned
as prizes (30% for 1st, 20% for 2nd and 10% for 3rd.). EF: $49 by 1/4/09,
